CALIFORNIA PROP 65

California Residents

What Prop 65?

On some of our products, we place a warning on the packaging.   You may see a similar warning on the other products you buy.

We place a warning on the product if it contains chemicals that are known to the state of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Under the legislation known as Prop 65 there is a long list of substances that have been identified that may cause harm.  The label we place on the product is to give our consumers 'reasonable warning' that the product may contain a substance on the list.

The products are legal to sell and we comply with all federal, state and local safety laws.  Prop 65 does not regulate the limits of the substance in the product or prohibit the sale of the product but requires us to notify the consumers of the presence of the substance so they can make an informed decision.

Proposition 65 (formally titled "The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986") was passed into law in California in 1986 and gets updated regularly. The regulation seeks to protect drinking water sources from toxic substances and to reduce or eliminate exposures to cancer and birth defect causing chemicals generally. This is achieved primarily by mandating warnings that help consumers make informed decisions about exposure.

Many of the elements listed under Proposition 65 are common everyday additives found in products like ceramic tableware, beauty products, canned and bottled food, coffee, some roasted nuts, and motor vehicles, etc. Because of the vast array of products that might contain one of the chemicals or ingredients on the list, we must include Proposition 65 warnings in our communications with you.

Some products we sell may have chemicals that cause cancer and reproductive harm.

Environmental regulations change constantly and Tonic Studios will periodically update this page to keep you abreast of changes that affect products we sell.

We appreciate your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
